Carolyn
Strimike is
an advanced practice nurse in the Women’s Heart Center and
in the Invasive Cardiology Department at St. Joseph’s Regional Medical
Center.
Ms. Strimike
graduated from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey where she was
awarded both her Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing and her Master’s
degree in Nursing, Advanced Practice, Adult Critical Care. She is a member
of Sigma Theta Tau, the national nursing honor society.
Ms. Strimike has
also received certification in critical care nursing from the American
Association of Critical Care Nurses as well as certification as an acute
care nurse practitioner from the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She
is a member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, the
American College of Nurse Practitioners, the American College of Cardiology
and a member of the Cardiovascular Nursing Council of the American Heart
Association.
She has
participated in more than 20 cardiology research studies at St. Joseph’s and
has published extensively in professional journals. She has presented papers
at more than 150 community and professional seminars. Recipient of the 2006
St. Joseph’s Healthcare System Employee of the Year Award, Ms. Strimike also
received the Woman of Vision Award from William Paterson University and the
William C. Gates Health and Human Services from the Paterson Rotary Club in
recognition of her efforts to educate women about heart disease.
