Vision Statement

The Women’s Heart Center at St. Joseph’s will be recognized as a clinical Center of Excellence for the identification and treatment of cardiovascular disease risk factors and unrecognized cardiovascular disease in adult women who live in northern New Jersey. The Women’s Heart Center will be distinguished by the excellence of its services, its focus on providing compassionate care for women, and its adherence to quality standards and continuous quality improvement.

Mission Statement

Sponsored by the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth and in the spirit of Toward Boundless Charity, the mission of The Women’s Heart Center at St. Joseph’s will be:

• To systematically apply the most recent American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology guidelines to identify, evaluate and treat women with cardiovascular risk factors and cardiovascular disease.
• To continuously educate women from all socioeconomic strata, and diverse racial, cultural and ethnic communities regarding cardiovascular risk factors, risk reduction and cardiovascular disease. This education will be provided through a range of community outreaches, publications and internet-based education.
• To advance the knowledge of women’s cardiovascular health through scientific research.
• To follow the mission of our sponsors, the Sisters of Charity of Saint Elizabeth to provide compassionate and quality care for all through adherence to the Sisters’ guiding principle, Toward Boundless Charity.
