United Presbyterian Church Hosts Luncheon and Presentation on “African American Women and Heart Disease”
The Women’s Service Group of United Presbyterian Church in Paterson hosted a luncheon and afternoon seminar on “African American Women and Heart Disease” for more than 70 members of the congregation. Presented by Carolyn Strimike, RN, MSN, Advance Practice Nurse in The Women’s Heart Center, the presentation included a discussion of African-American women’s risk factors for heart disease and stroke and the benefits of exercise, relaxation, following a heart healthy eating plan and participating in church-related activities in reducing risk. Ms. Strimike (center) is shown with some of the women who attended the presentation.
