SOLID ROCK LADIES WELCOME WOMEN’S HEART CENTER

The Women’s Ministry of Solid Rock Baptist Church in Paterson hosted “African American Women and Heart Disease” presentation for 40 members of the congregation. In her presentation, Carolyn Strimike, RN, MSN, WHC Advanced Practice Nurse, talked about the sudden death of Yolanda King from heart failure and urged the women in the audience to understand their specific risks for heart disease, take steps to reduce risk and learn to recognize the signs and symptoms of both a heart attack and a stroke. Ms. Strimike urged the women to “to take the information you learned this morning and share it with at least three relatives, friends or neighbors. We need your help in spreading the message about women and heart disease.”
